For those not already familiar with traditional Belgian fare, the celebrated dish and De Fontein specialty is the tantalising combination of a steaming mussels served with golden fries and creamy home-made mayonnaise (“Moules et Frites”). These succulent mussel pots come with a variety of aromatic sauces for you to choose from, so indulge your senses by trying the coconut cream and lemongrass curry sauce or the lobster bisque and brandy sauce – both are perfect for a warming winter’s evening!
Also back by popular demand at De Fontein is the Lemon-Pepper Calamari pan-fried with lemon pepper, and served with tartare sauce, sweet chilli and fries. Couple this with a chilled Stella Artois and you are in for a real treat (remembering that De Fontein is renowned for food and beer matching).
Or choose the tasty Belgium Meatball dish, cooked to perfection in a rich tomato sauce and served with parsley potatoes. This dish is served best with the traditional Belgian ale – Leffe Dark.
De Fontein is your local home away from home this winter, with delicious food skilfully matched with great beers for you to enjoy in a relaxed, warming atmosphere.
Open weekdays from 11 am and weekends from 8am for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Live music on Friday from 8.30pm and Sunday afternoons from 4-7pm.
