The Fountain

The Trevor Davis Memorial Fountain is one of the area's landmarks. Situated on Selwyn Reserve, the fountain has been a source of beauty, fun and interest since 1950. Recently restored, thanks to the Orakei Local Board, a control panel next to the fountain takes you through a verbal account of Mission Bay's history.

Lighting

Mission Bay is well known for its beautiful decorative lighting and with the assistance of the Orakei Local Board, we recently installed lights in a couple of our trees. Not only do these provide extra security at night, but they are a great night time feature on the reserve, bookmarking the entrances to Mission Bay.

Playing

Our playground is known far and wide by kids and parents. You can find our playground on Selwyn Reserve, with fantastic views of the beach, fountain, and restaurants - making it a great place to keep the family and friends entertained while you lap up the surroundings.

Chill_Tile.jpg

Chilling

If there's one thing Mission Bay is good for, it's bringing together your friends, family, and close ones. It's in our nature to flock to the beach, maybe it's the fresh air, maybe it's the scenery or the sound of lapping water, but at any rate it makes for a great spot to just chill.

Biking_Tile.jpg

Biking

The best way to explore the Eastern Bays is by heading to Mission Bay and riding along The Promenade. Bikes are available 7 days, either by casual hire when the stall is parked right in the heart of Mission Bay, or by phone arrangement when stored just 100m down Atkin Avenue from the Beach.
