1. Start the day with a workout

Mission Bay is a fitness-lovers paradise!  Enjoy running, cycling or skating alongside the beach, or maybe you’re a water baby - swimming, paddle-boarding or kayaking might be your thing.  Flex your muscles at our very own Fitness Park at the Eastern end of Selwyn Reserve or get a team together for a bit of touch rugby or beach volleyball.

2. Refuel with coffee and brunch

Tana Mera Espresso is a fave with the locals with awesome, friendly staff, amazing coffee and the most delicious brioche that are delivered fresh DAILY. Or for a more substantial breakfast check out Mission Bay Cafe, another local hotspot.

3. Walk the dog then stop in for a puppacino

We love dogs – big, small, furry or fluffy, they are all welcome at Mission Bay, even upstairs on the deck at Good George Tap Room! You’ll find dog bowls everywhere too and sometimes even treats!

4. Check out our historic sites

NZ ‘s first ever flying school was established in Mission Bay in 1915 and we have the sculpture to prove it!  The historic Mission House stands at the site of the late 1840s Melanesia Mission which gives Mission Bay its name. Or head up to Bastion Point via the walkway from Tamaki Drive and find your zen at the Savage Memorial Park while enjoying some of the best views in Auckland.

5. Head to the movies in one of Auckland’s oldest (and coolest) cinemas

The Berkeley Cinema is one of the oldest theatres in Auckland. Bringing you the latest blockbusters and independent titles, visit this Mission Bay institution for a great wine list and old world charm. That's date night sorted.

6. Fish and Chips by the beach for lunch – the fancy way!

There’s no doubt about it, we love our beach, but sometimes we just want to enjoy our fish and chips without the seagulls. Head to De Fontein for a delicious serving of fresh beer-battered fish and chips for lunch. Or you can even take it up a level on the seafood stakes and try their amazing steamed mussel pots – so tasty!

7. Picnic at the beach

Burger Fuel is a Kiwi institution so grab a Bacon BBQ Roadster and an L&P then roll out your picnic blanket.  Or if you’re looking for a slightly healthier option, head around the corner to Otto Woo for some tasty noodles.

8. Eat your way around the world

Try divine Italian dishes at Lupino and Portofino, tasty Mexican favourites at Dos Amigos, tempt yourself with 1950’s American Diner style goodies at Bald Eagle Diner or even try some delicious, spicy Indian dishes at Tarka. If it’s a taste of the Mediterranean you’re after, check out Bodrum Kitchen for a sharing platter of Turkish treats.

9. Or skip dinner and go straight to dessert

Mission Bay has some of the sweetest treats in Auckland. Between Movenpick, Gelato New Zealand, KiwiYo and so many more options, there’s something sweet for everybody – and you don’t have to stop at just one!

10. Finish the day with an evening drink with rooftop views

Head upstairs to the deck at De Fontein and Good George Tap Room Mission Bay for gorgeous sunset views and an extensive range of delicious beers to enjoy it with (as well as plenty of other drink options!). We look forward to seeing you!
